Without a doubt, it is the King of the Ecuadorian Andes. Recently, the French geodesic mission measured it again, and its height is around 6267 meters, and it continues to be the closest point to the sun and the furthest from the center of the earth.
Day 1 - We depart in the morning for the Chimborazo Wildlife Production Reserve. It takes us approximately 2.5 hours to reach the parking area at 4800 meters. We have a 3-hour hike to reach the high camp located at 5300 meters, where dinner and rest await us before our attempt on the highest peak in the country.
Hike: 3 hours, Elevation Gain: 500 meters
Day 2 - Summit of Chimborazo (6310m)
We depart at 1:00 AM to reach the summit at dawn. It will take us between 6 and 7 hours to ascend and 3 hours to descend. This climb includes a 15-meter via ferrata and a steep glacier, making it an interesting climb and therefore requiring good physical and technical fitness to conquer this beautiful volcano.
Hike: 12-13 hours, Elevation Gain: 1000 meters, Elevation Loss: 1500 meters
