Tour Itinerary
The ascent traverses cloud forests, high-altitude grasslands, and volcanic landscapes, allowing for a direct connection with the power of the living mountain and spectacular views of the eastern mountain range. This tour offers two options, adapted to the traveler's fitness level and experience.
Option 1: One-Day Ascent – Advanced Level
Departure from Baños at 5:00 am. A demanding 9- to 10-hour hike (round trip) to the volcano's crater, ideal for mountaineers in good physical condition with prior experience.
Option 2: 2-Day Ascent – Intermediate Level
Day 1: Afternoon departure and 3-4 hour hike to the refuge at 3,800 m (12,200 ft), dinner and rest.
Day 2: Final ascent to the summit in 6-8 hours, enjoying a unique sunrise over the Ecuadorian Andes.
