Climbing Cotopaxi in 7 days

Day1.- Quito- Citytour - Otavalo
Quito recognized as a cultural heritage site by UNESCO , is the capital of our country , visit its historic center with countless churches like the Jesuits , the Cathedral and the Presidential Palace.
In the afternoon we transfer 2 hours to Otavalo on the route will pass through plantations of roses and beautiful landscapes.

Day2.- Otavalo - Fuyafuya 4260m -Otavalo
An hour's drive from Otavalo we arrive to Mojanda Lagoon 3740m. high from this point walk to the summit of Fuya Fuya , which according to local legend the son of Imbabura and Cotacachi is . Hike 3-4 hours is a bit steep and slippery when it rains, 520 meters of positive slope. In the afternoon and in the city to visit a small waterfall Peguche, their tissues and music . Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day3.- Otavalo - Imbabura 4630m -Otavalo
We left very early in our private transport to Esperanza, 1h30 minutes 3300 meters, starting the walk on the moor and then rock steps to reach the summit, 6-7 hour hike., this volcano has an extraordinary view around the province. Dinner and overnight in Hotel.

Day4.- Otavalo – Refugio del Cayambe 4650m. Glacier school
We have 2 to 3 hours in our private transport to the refuge at 4600 meters. We walke up the glacier to train a bit with our team.
Dinner and rest in the refuge.

Day5.- Refugio - Machachi
We leave in the early hours of the morning in the direction of the summit to where we can get . The summit is optional depending on your fitness and conditioning . Otherwise it will be good training for the next summit. Back at the shelter we prepare our bags and go to Machachi 2- 3 hours of transport.

Day6.- Machachi - Shelter Cotopaxi 4860m
With our private transport we head to the parking lot of Cotopaxi volcano located at 4600m altitude . With our team we start 1 hour hike to the Refugio Jose Ribas Located 4860m high. In the afternoon we will have a small school to use our equipment on the glacier . Dinner and rest in the Shelter. Slope positive 400m.

Day7.- Cumbre 5897M.-Quito
We started the climb at 1 am, after 6-7 hours of walking on the glacier we reach the summit where we see the crater and all the Andes Mountains if the, weather permitting. 2-3 hours to descend to the refuge , we have to pass by cracks and slopes up to 40 degree slope with a good acclimatization and good physical condition no problem. Once in the parking lot with our private transport we return to Quito.
